On 10.10.10 my cousin, Ellie, married the love of her life, Joel in an intimate ceremony in Rochester, MN.  80 degrees, fall colors and the company of family and friends were the perfect ingredients for their wedding day.  They are a perfect match: completely devoted to one another and full of laughter, compassion, sincerity and graciousness.  I love watching my family multiply and grow.  The love and pride we have for each other is solid and constant.  Ellie and Joel,  many thanks to you for asking me to photograph your wedding.  It was beautiful and I look forward to all the memories we will make in the years to come!

Springer lovers to their core, Ellie & Joel were very excited to have their 4 dogs present on their wedding day:

A few times a year I visit my 2nd favorite state, South Dakota.  I love visiting my sister and her family and it’s always a bonus to be able to photograph a few sessions out there too.

Lura and my sister, Annie, are dear friends.  They met in college at South Dakota State University and remain close today.  Infact, they are a part of a very tight group of gals that I was always a tad bit jealous of.   Close girlfriends who have always been there for each other during academics, engagements, marriages, births, deaths, and all of life’s many ups and downs…  Lura is one of the kindest, most positive, most cheerful people on earth.  She and Shon will be fabulous parents…and I can’t wait to find out if January will bring them a little son or a little daughter! 

Maggie & Matt’s October 2 wedding in Crosslake was simply beautiful!  The weather, the fall colors, and the never ending stream of happy and excited family members and friends made the day perfect.  I just loved their style and attention to detail.  Their reception at Manhattan Beach Lodge was one of the most beautiful I have seen.  Matt & Maggie, thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer.  Your wedding day was spectacular and I wish you nothing but the best in the years to come!

I always love seeing Dave, Danielle’ and their little girl, Isabella.  I’ve been so lucky to know them for a number of years since I photographed their wedding 3 years ago at Craguns Legacy.  Since then, I’ve been so fortunate to document their pregnancy and some fun sessions with Izzy over the past many months.  I appreciate their loyalty, and admire them as individulas and as parents.  They are the real deal:

It was such a beautiful fall day to photograph Tom and Donna at their gorgeous home in Bay Lake.  I enjoyed chatting with Donna who is also a very busy wedding professional… She is the creative, hardworking, successful force behind Celebrations Floral Design serving the entire Brainerd Lakes Area.  Calling her to provide you flowers for your wedding or special event is a very smart decision.

Some photographers might grumble when it comes to photographing family members… Not me.  It’s one of the best parts of my job.  My cousin’s wedding, my older sister’s pregnancy, my neice’s first days of life, and now my little sister’s engagement.  It’s my greatest joy to photograph the people I love most.

Mackenzie is my little sister and one of my best friends.  We’ve shared a bedroom, we’ve shared secrets, we’ve shared life’s joys and life’s sorrows.   There are no words to describe how much I love her.  She’s hardworking, she’s clever and her heart must be made of pure gold. 

Aaron is the perfect man for her.  Our family loves him and welcomes him with open arms.  Sometimes when us sisters & cousin’s get together, we’re just plain weird.  Somehow he continues to come back to each get-together, trip, and family dinner.  We already consider him a part of our family, and on May 7, 2011, it will be official.

I love you both and I’m thankful you both found what you were looking for.
